Located in the heart of downtown Beaufort at 709 Bay Street, you can find Scout Southern Market where southern edge and authenticity meet. From the Mason-Dixon Line to the Port of New Orleans, our collection of fine home decor, gifts, and small batch specialty foods brings you the best home items from the greatest southern states. With products from hand picked local southern artisans, we bring only the best of the south into your home. Our offerings don't just stop at products from other makers, though! Scout is famous for our Sweet Tea Floats, which are handmade in-store and add something sweet to your time perusing our shop or walking along the Beaufort waterfront.
We get our name - and our character - from Scout Finch, the feisty, intelligent, and thoughtful narrator of Harper Lee's To Kill A Mockingbird. Strong-willed and confident, Scout takes no bull from anyone; She is true to herself and everyone around her, just like us.
Our Favorite "Scout" Quote: "Naw, Jem, I think there's just one kind of folks. Folks."

Meet Ann - Market Owner
Ann opened Scout's doors in 2014 after moving across the country to Beaufort from San Francisco! Drawn into southern life, she's been dubbed a "southern enthusiast" and quickly found herself at home both in the lowcountry and on Bay Street.
